John Brown Bossley (1810-1872) came to Australia in 1838 and practiced as a chemist in Sydney. Edensor was the name of Bossley’s English estate built on his property near Clear Paddock Creek. He called his home Edensor, after a town in Derbyshire known as Chatsworth. This designated the area around Edensor Park as Bossley Park, after its owner.
